Come with me, And you'll be, In a world of Pure imagination. Take a look And you'll see Into your imagination. If you want to view paradise, Simply look around and view it. Anything you want to, do it. Wanta change the world? There's nothing To i...
/lyrics to pure imagination from the original willy wonka movie.
i kinda had a thought. im totally ignorant when it comes to politics, but it seems that the movie willy wonka was expressing some opinion about the USA. willy wonka creates a "paradise" where "you can be free if you really wish to be". and yet theres all these rules and regulations. each child representing a different group, be it religion, monetary, ethnic, etc. and everytime a child breaks one of the rules, the pay the consequences for it, from the paradise they orginally sought. from the person who promised them freedom.
kinda sends the message that are always limitations to any freedom. too much of anything, even somethng good, can result in bad. that everything has its price.
maybe ive just been thinking too much about it, but it just occurred to me as this during a 30 minute span of drawing this piece. i havent seen the movie yet, but johnny depp certainly gave me a reason to want to. im not one of those chics who thinks hes hot, i just think he looks ravishingly dreadfully deliciously creepy in this outfit. when i was little i thought willy wonka was scary and i hated the movie. but bc johnny depp looks creepy, and tim burton directed it, i just might appreciate it more.
So amazing it had to be replaced with E's.
well all that just reminded me of the Garden of Eden. Somehow.
